Meet Susan L Combs
The Biz Stuff…
Susan founded Combs & Company in 2005 with the concept of “Do More, Better.” She believes there is always one more thing we can do for a client or there is always a way to make things better or more efficient. With a background in hospitality, Susan keeps service in the forefront of all client interactions. Smart enough to know what she knows, Susan is smarter about what she doesn’t know, so she’s built an organization that brings the right talent to every client engagement. Susan oversees all aspects of the business as well as serves as the quarterback on all specialty risk and expert witnessing duties.
In addition to running the brokerage firm, Susan is a best selling author with her book “Pancakes for Roger: A Mentorship Guide to Slaying Dragons.” Susan is proud to support the University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic with a portion of the proceeds of the book going to support the Clinic and their assistance with Veterans and their families navigating the VA Claims and appeals process.
The Fun Stuff…
Susan’s just a “Missouri girl in a New York world.” She grew up in King City, MO, a town of less than 1,000 people, with her mom, dad and two older brothers. She left the northwest corner of Missouri in 2001 to seek her success in NYC. Susan’s dad is a retired Major General AND county judge, while her mother owned a Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio and travel agency. (So entrepreneurship is in her blood.) Susan’s interest are as diverse as her upbringing. She is a HUGE Kansas City Chiefs and Royals (2015 World Champs) fan, and is always cheering for her alma mater, the Mizzou Tigers! She lives in Queens with her amazing husband, Sean, and their two furry kids, their cat Pepper and their dog Roxy. Susan loves CrossFit, Strongman, playing football, hockey, and she’s a whiz in the kitchen, which makes it no surprise that if she had a day to do anything she wanted she would be found exploring a new city and hitting a restaurant on the Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives list!
